Ter's Video Summary #10 (Millenial Still Life)

Ter's new video is about she making a millenial still life.

This painting is in the style of "still life", and all painting/pictures that are like this, specially the ones made with fruits, are still lifes. In the past, this kind of paintings was used as a way to show off how rich you were, because fruits weren't that easy to afford, so if you had a painting with (let's say) grapes, you are showing off luxuries only people as rich as you could afford.

But in present time, everyone in their houses have grapes and I'm sure you probably have a still life at your house, so, still lifes lost their original purpose. The modern equivalent to having a still life are trap and rap videos, where they are with gold-made stuff, sometimes throwing money at the air, and wearing the most expensive clothing brands.

Ter liked the concept of a still life being a direct evolution of the painting so she decided to make her own millenial still life.

Her still life is in 3D. It has principally a red high heel, a conch, a Virgin Mary (this is making a reference to trap videos) and a skull.

She didn't make it by painting it in 3D, she did it with photogrammetry. This is a technique based on taking pictures from all the angles to an object, so a computer makes dots to recreate that object in 3D, then, the computer connect the dots and now you have your 3D Model.

Ter then got together all of her 3D models and made it into something that works as an instagram filter, and this was the result:
