Ter's new video is about why in trap music videos or why trap artists often have/wear things that are symbols of catholicism. Even though it isn't making a statement about if they follow a religion or not, it has a deeper reason than what we would think.

To have the right mindset to understand the purpose of that specific iconography on trap music, we need to know what postmodernism and detachment is. This is a movement that says everything is equally fine, equally bad, or equally intense. If you have a building shaped as a tornado, it is as (equally) normal as a common-shaped building.
And this is what happens around catholicism stuff with trap music. The patience the Virgin Mary had to wrapped around her mind that she was going to be the mom of the messiah, is as intense as in a La Zowi's trap song, when her patience is being tested because her crush doesn't call her. At first sight, it doesn't seems equivalent, but with the postmodernism layer and also because this is one of the most challenging events La Zowi has experienced in her life, it totally makes sense. In your life, you can also search for examples about events that personally for you required as much patience as the Virgin Mary had.

Cecilio G, in the song "From Darkness to the world" is in a catholic cemetery, and he is using it as part of the visual language to match the end, the death of a relationship that now he finds out was the best thing to happen; he compares it (visually) with a place where dead people are buried and will meet eternal life with God (as their belief says).

Cross in catholicism represents the sacrifice of Jesus to save all humanity. In the case of the song "Tú o yo" by La Zowi is used to represent how she was asking herself if she is going to sacrifice her life and emotional well-being for a relationship with a guy.

The final example is with the saint of the painting "The Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian" that's about someone who was forced to go to the war but fought against going there because as a catholic, he couldn't go to a place to kill people, so the guy recruiting him, killed him with arrows. Saint Sebastian died without giving up his love to God. C Tangana, in a music video had flowers stabbed on him representing how he is in a relationship and how he is going to die for the woman he is in love, without giving up the love he has for her.
Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it!
